AYURVEDA
The science of life. The term Ayurveda is taken from the Sanskrit words; Ayus meaning life, and Veda meaning knowledge. It is a system of traditional medicine, native to the Indian subcontinent. It has been practiced in India for at least 5000 years. It’s considered by many modern scholars to be the oldest healing science. It has a holistic approach to health, which is designed to help people live long and healthy, through balanced lives.
Recently, it is becoming very popular in western world, because of Ayurvedic massages. Ayurvedic massage provides a sanctuary of harmony and healing. It rejuvenates physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Massage is the most natural and nurturing part of the healing art. Using only hands, as tools to manipulate muscles, to release tension, and ease away stress, fatigue and anxiety.
YOGA
A methodic exertion, of the body and mind, Yoga is a Sanskrit word which means ‘unite’. It is a method of the physical postures, breathing exercise and meditation. It attempts to achieve a perfect balance between the body and the mind, a holistic system that promotes healthy living. ‘Most disease, whether they are mental, psychosomatic or physical, originate in the mind’, and therefore, are said to be cured by Yoga. Yoga offers a variety of postures ‘aasana’ for meditation and to cure health problems, it strengthens the back and improves digestion. It is seen as an effective means to physical health, vitality and spiritual mastery.
SPA
There are different kinds of spas. As a destination spa, the whole environment is geared toward the four cornerstones of a spa experience: mind and body fitness, healthy eating, relaxation and treatments. They have physicians, psychologists, nutritionists and physical therapists. They offer professionally administered massages, facials and body treatments in a quiet, serene atmosphere. You generally go there for at least two to three nights and immerse yourself in the spa atmosphere and treatments, to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.
